At a university, these experts would be lecturing in large auditoriums and you'd be lucky to get their attention before graduate school. They've come to Sweet Briar because they are committed to the highest quality undergraduate education. This means they are here for you - to educate you, to challenge you, to support you. And that's not just our opinion. Our faculty rank in the top 10 percent for their accessibility and engagement in the National Survey of Student Engagement. In addition, Sweet Briar was the only women's college in the country invited to participate in Project DEEP (Documenting Effective Educational Practices) which explores how highly successful colleges engage students in their own education. If you'd like to read what this independent panel of educational experts thought of Sweet Briar and its faculty, you can read the report here. The bottom line is, you'll never hear a Sweet Briar student complain about not having access to their professors.
